Empowering Women to Lead Cyber Security is a unique, cross-sector, leadership program for women in the cyber security and broader InfoSec professions, delivered by Empowering You and in association the NI Cyber Security Centre. The initiative aims to build a collaborative and powerful community of female leaders in cyber security and InfoSec roles across Northern Ireland. Delivered over 3 months from October - December 2024, Empowering Women to Lead Cyber Security is designed to enable the transition of aspirational and early to mid-career professionals, team leaders and managers into more confident, capable and energised leaders.
The Award winning “Empowering Women to Lead…” programs create an immersive learning environment for participants, which includes interactive group workshops, one-to-one coaching and collaborative team projects, built around thematic “challenges” and culminating in a presentation to an audience of representatives from across the Northern Ireland cyber eco-system, at an event hosted in Belfast. This will be the third cohort to run in Northern Ireland, with former graduates from across the public and private sectors having hailed the positive impact that it has had on their development as leaders. The programs have been running for three years across the UK, with regional programs operating in London & Southern England, the Midlands, Northern England, Scotland and Wales. This has resulted in a powerful alumni network being created, which has now reached over 400 women in the InfoSec professions, who are able to support and empower each other.
Participation in the program is free of charge and participants are selected to take part via an open application process by a panel of experts from across government and industry. The deadline for applications is coming up on the 6th of September.
