The digital world brings countless benefits but it also presents risks. Fraudsters are constantly finding new ways to steal personal information, access financial accounts and exploit vulnerabilities. The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), Home Office, and the National Crime Agency (NCA) have developed the Stop! Think Fraud campaign to help individuals and businesses stay ahead of cybercriminals by providing clear advice on fraud prevention.
One of the most effective ways to protect yourself online is by enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), also known as Two-Step Verification (2SV).
Why Should You Enable 2SV?
Two-Factor Authentication is one of the most effective defences against online fraud. Even if a cybercriminal gets hold of your password, they won’t be able to access your accounts without the second step of authentication.
How Does 2SV Work?
After entering your password, you’ll be required to provide a second form of authentication, such as:
- A code sent to your phone via SMS or app
- A security key or authentication app
- Fingerprint or facial recognition
Stay Vigilant Against Fraud
Online fraud is constantly evolving, but by taking simple steps like enabling Two-Step Verification, staying alert to suspicious activity, and following the Stop! Think Fraud principles, you can significantly reduce the risk of falling victim to cybercrime.
Take action today – protect your accounts and personal information from fraudsters!
